In compliance with the Provincial Government’s directive for all elementary schools across Ontario to be locked, the WRDSB committed to implement this initiative throughout the 2013-14 school year. Due to our construction, Breslau Public School is later than most schools in having this happen. We are now ready to begin! With all school doors locked, the Safe Welcome Program requires all visitors (parents, vendors, volunteers, central Board staff etc.) to access the main doors of Breslau Public School beside the new office space facing Joseph Street, using an intercom system. Once you buzz, doors will be opened and you are to proceed to the office for assistance or to sign in if you are remaining at the school. It is recognized that having all doors locked will be new for our school community. Students will be instructed to NOT open doors or allow access to any adult, including their own parent. Please do not put any child in the awkward position of being asked to open a locked door. We are confident that students, parents and staff working collaboratively together will make a smooth transition into the implementation of this program. Information will also be sent home prior to February 25th.
