We are so excited about an art installation with a strong educational component coming to Breslau Public School. Our school has been selected to be the first “Stream of Dreams” in the WRDSB!
You may be asking yourself, what is “Stream of Dreams”? It is a project where every student and staff member has the opportunity to learn about the precious Grand River watershed. Then after understanding the importance of keeping the river clean and healthy, students will paint their very own wooden fish.
These fish are all different and all beautiful in their own ways. For the exciting kindergarten fish to the fish that our artistic senior students create, all the fish look amazing. It creates a powerful reminder of the children and something that will stay as a public art installation for years to come!
These fish will then be installed on our fence line along our parking lot. They will be attached in a “school” like fashion where the fish will be swimming in a wave along the fence line. How exciting! But we need some parent volunteers to help us attach these fish to the fence and varathane them so they are protected for years to come.
If you think that you might be able to volunteer for an hour or more to attach our little fish to the fence, we could use your help. (All tools and training will be led by the Stream of Dreams coordinator. ) The fish will be attached to the fence line June 17th and 18th. If you would like to help in the art classroom, you can sign up for that as well. The creation of the fish will be done on June 8, 9 and 10th.
To volunteer to help, please contact the school and they can assist you in signing up in a time slot. Our school phone number is 519 648 2242.
