STRONG START VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for parent volunteers who are willing to work with some of our Senior Kindergarten and Grade 1 students who would benefit from one-to-one support developing their pre-reading skills. A few hours of training is provided by the Strong Start program, as there are very specific activities volunteers are asked to work on with the children. Not only would you be making a difference in the lives of some our youngest students but you would also learn strategies that you could use with your own children at home to prepare them for learning to read. If you are able to commit to an hour or more a week and are interested in being a Strong Start volunteer, please send in a note in your child’s planner or contact either Mrs. Wendy Garrett (Special Education Teacher) at Breslau School or Mary Lou Thompson (Parent Coordinator) at 519-748-4721.
