December 3rd, 2014
Our annual Christmas Concert is quickly approaching! Students from a variety of clubs and groups have been busy practicing in preparation for their performance on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:30 pm. You can expect to hear from the Primary, Junior and Glee choirs, both the Grade 7 and Grade 8 Orchestra as well as the Grades 5 and 6 Bucket Drumming Group and the Xylophone Group and finally the Grade 3 Handbell group. Doors will open at 6:00 pm for students to head to their appropriate meeting locations and for parents to find their place in the gym. As courteous audience participants, we ask that you stay and enjoy the entire show as students have been working diligently to present in this concert.
As part of a caring community, Breslau P.S. will be participating in a couple of initiatives to help those in our community who find this time of year particularly challenging.
We will be partnering with Woolwich Community Services in support of their 2014 Christmas Goodwill Program. Beginning December 1st, we will be collecting donations of non-perishable food, hats, mitts or small monetary donations to contribute towards this initiative. We are requesting that you bring one of these items to the concert as your ‘ticket’ in the door. As mentioned, you will also be able to send your items in advance of the concert if that works better for you and your family. For those families who do not have children participating in the concert or are unable to attend, we welcome your participation in this initiative. We will be receiving donations until Thursday, December 11th as all donations need to be received by Woolwich Community Services by Friday, December 12th.
We will also be collecting gently used winter coats in support of West 49’s Coats for Kids Program. You can start to send the coats in on December 1st as well and we will collect them until December 11th.
Thank you for joining with us as we join with Woolwich Community Services and West 49 as they endeavour to enhance the lives of those in and around our community.
