So yes, it is time to start talking about September!  Every year there is a process to welcome our youngest learners to the school and transition them to our school routines. Across the school board, we approach this the same way.  Our new to Kindergarten (Junior Kindergarten) and Senior Kindergarten students new to Breslau Public School, will attend on the first day of school.  Parents will receive a letter explaining your new-to-Breslau kindergarten student’s schedule.  Here are the general details below.

Staggered Entry for All Kindergarten Students, All WRDSB Schools

Day 1: Tuesday, September 8, 2015:

  • Orientation for “new-to-school” Kindergarten Students only
  • (Returning SK Students will NOT attend school on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.)

All new-to-school” children (JK Students and new-to-school SK Students) and their families will be invited to participate in an Orientation Day. This will provide an opportunity for families to meet with the Kindergarten Team (teacher and DECE(s)), visit the classroom, and share important information that will support the child as he/she is introduced to the larger school community. We will establish a schedule for small groups of JK or new SK Students (3 to 5 students per session) and their parent(s)/guardian(s) to visit the classroom.

Days 2 and 3: Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10, 2015

  • Returning SK Students will attend full days beginning on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 and onward.
  • New-to-school students (JK Students and new-to-school SK Students) will attend on one of these days (half on Wednesday September 9, 2015 and Thursday September 10, 2015).

Day 4: Friday, September 11, 2015

Regular attendance for all Kindergarten Students begins on Friday, September 11, 2015.
