A new school year is almost upon us! We know this time can bring many feelings, but hopefully it is mostly a sense of excitement for the year ahead.
Tuesday September 3rd is the first day of school. Our staff team will be at the back of the school between 8:15 and 8:30 on Tuesday morning (September 3rd) to meet our students as they arrive.
Class Information:
The Waterloo Region District School Board is committed to keeping your children safe. To comply with privacy legislation we have changed the way we communicate elementary students’ home classrooms for September. Class lists will no longer be posted on the outside windows or doors of your child’s school. To find out how to check your child’s class assignment for September 2019 see this flyer. This information will be available on School-Day after 5pm on Friday August 30, 2019. If you are not connected through School-Day, the staff outside on Tuesday morning will be able to provide you with class information.
Meet the Staff:
This year we will be holding our Meet the Staff night on Wednesday September 4th from 6-7pm. This will be a drop-in evening where you and your child(ren) can meet the staff that will be working with your child. We will not be having food trucks this year, however, School Council will have ice cream cups for sale!
Recesses
Our recess plan has changed this year. At both nutrition breaks, our students in grades 1-4 will go outside for the first 20 minutes and then come inside to eat their snacks/lunch. Our students in grades 5-8 will do the opposite (eat first, then go outside). With everyone outside all at the same time, our yard was a very busy space! Alternating these groups going outside will help keep our students safe during their activity time.
Our staff team has been busy preparing for our students and we can’t wait to learn and grow together this year! We wish you a wonderful holiday weekend and we will see you Tuesday morning!
